___________________ THE BLUE SHORE OF SILENCE ____________________

Let us look for secret things
somewhere in the world,
on the blue shore of silence,
or where the storm has passed
rampaging like a train.
There the faint signs are left,
coins of time and water,
debris, celestial ash
and the irreplaceable rapture
of sharing in the labour
of solitude in the sand.

- Pablo Neruda

You can imagine the poet sat on that very spot as he wrote

Pablo Neruda is one of my most favourite poets. He was a Nobel prize for literature winning Chilean poet. He was a politically controversial figure in his country, a left wing supporter of the democratically elected Socialist Allende government that was removed by force by General Pinocet in the 1970s.

But transcending all of these aspects of his life is his poetry which I find opens a door on our existence in a most compelling and original way. You can read about his life here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pablo_Neruda.
