Sometimes the least traumatic thing to do is to simply sit and meditate - you don't need iron in the soul to do that, but it is utterly imperative that you have a teapot :>)

This cartoon is a good metaphor for the spiritual path - that is:

You don't have to go anywhere. Meditating in a cave in Tibet has no more worth than simply practising where you find yourself at the present moment.

It is always important to have a spiritual friend on the path. In this case it's a duck - great! A duck isn't going to insist you dress in saffron robes, give it all your money or sleep with it.

Also, being kind to the duck is good practise for looking after all sentient beings on this planet.

Don't be fooled by the teapot. Apart from having the ability to brew the best beverage ever invented by mankind, a teapot can be used as a focal point for calm abiding meditation.

.... and flowers are great, you can plant them, eat them or just enjoy the colour they bring into our world.
