Listening To The River (2)

ON THE MANUHERIKA RIVER - Brian Turner

The sun's shameless on the river
which is ruckled, bright, noisy.
I like it here, and forever.
The wildflowers spank. A posy
here, another there. And here comes
the water, and there it goes
round the bend downstream.
Best not, friend, do our sums
on blessed days like this. Woes
we suppress. Look, your eyes gleam.

I like this poet of your Alden. Its a perfect match for my carpe diem theme isn't it? Leave woes aside for another time and seize this moment and drown in it...

Yes you are correct - mindfulness - easy to say - difficult to put into practise - but as they say, "practise makes perfect."
